Yes. HOA documents refer to the community's security gate. The neighborhood sits on Johns Lake, and an HOA policy on the recreation areas lists a boat launch dock, tennis courts and basketball courts, with keys issued to residents.
Can you rent homes in Deer Island short term?
No. Deer Island's HOA Policy Resolution 2022-01 says owners may rent their homes only for 12 months or longer, and only after living in the home for at least 24 months. Tenants must be registered with the association within 10 days. The policy also says Deer Island is not zoned by Orange County for short-term or transient rentals. Confirm the current rules with the association before buying.
